THE BEAUTIFUL GAME⚽

Image
THE GOLDEN CHASE The Premier League is well into the second half of the season now, and the race to win the Golden Boot awarded by the league's top-scorer is heating up. Liverpool sensation Mohamed Salah is looking to defend his title after a record-breaking haul of 32 goals last year nabbed him the prize. Arsenal 's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is off to a flying start as well, along with Tottenham star Harry Kane and Man City forward Sergio Aguero. Aguero netted his 11th hat-trick for the Citizens during his side's 6-0 demolition of Chelsea at the Etihad in February, which equalled Alan Shearer's all-time record of most hat-tricks scored in the Premier League. A pack including Raheem Sterling, Eden Hazard, Sadio Mane and others are not far behind. Position | Player | Club | Goals 1. Sergio Aguero Manchester City 18 2. Mohamed Salah Liverpool 17 3. LIFE AS IT IS: PEARL HARBOR

PEARL HARBOR December 7th, 1941 . Pearl Harbour. . The winds blows towards the east as the girl behind me braid my hair. Her name is Kate and she's a nurse under the United State Navy. She tells me about her fiancee; John. I'm not really interested in her conversation. My body is here with her while my mind is sitting on a stool close to the fish monger watching as Mama yells at Tom for the type of friends he keeps. "If you keep going out with those boys, you will leave my house" Mama says from afar, her voice is getting louder and I think almost all the neighbours are listening. Why would Tom go?, maybe he should listen to Mama and stop going out with those guys. . "Where would you been in ten years" Kate ask me . I think she's must have noticed I'm not here with her and is trying to divert back my attention. "Ten years?" I whisper silently. I stare at the sea as my best friend Rachael and her father walk hand in hand. I turn

STYLE ZONE WITH I STYLE: Deciding What to Wear

Image
Good morning beautiful people, welcome to the second part of deciding what to wear. This part focuses on Dressing For Different types of Occasions! 1 Select an outfit for a wedding. Dressing for a wedding is tricky because it varies depending on time of year and wedding location. The one constant rule for weddings is don’t wear white. Other than that, take your fashion cues from the invitation. If the wedding explicitly states black tie, plan to wear a tux or evening gown. If the wedding takes place during the day or outside, wear a more casual dress or suit. Men may be able to get away with slacks and a button down shirt. If the ceremony takes place in a house of worship, bring a sweater to cover any exposed shoulders. 2 Select an outfit for a job interview. Once upon a time, the only appropriate clothing to wear to a job interview was a suit. Now, times have changed, and depending on where you’re interviewing, a suit may be a little too much. If you’re interviewing for a

LIFE AS IT IS: Our Secret

Image
OUR SECRET (Fiction) Jude!! I’m standing close to the window in St. George hospital. My gaze is outside, watching the commotion as a woman kneels on the ground in front of a doctor. My heart on the other hand is here in this room. It’s dark, cruel and very angry that mother is soothing your head with a towel. Tears slip down her face as she cleans your eyebrows. I stare at her with disgust. Bile forms in my throat and I look around for a trash can to throw up. I suck it down after I discover there isn't any. It goes down slowly, then the burning pit in my stomach swallows it up. “Olorun ran u” mama says while staring at you. She raises her hand in a prayers like position. “God do not help monsters” I say under my breath. I wish you would just die. I wish you will wither and feel no more. I wish for your lips to turn blue and your body lifeless. I wish this and more bad things for you. I want to thank Angela, your wife whose lover smashed over you with his car. I never

THE BEAUTIFUL GAME: Who Will Save the Sinking Blues

Image
WHO WILL SAVE THE SINKING BLUES? Chelsea have made Zinedine Zidane and Frank Lampard their top managerial targets should they sack Maurizio Sarri. Blues chiefs held talks over Sarri's position after his side, who are sixth in the Premier League, were dumped out of the FA Cup by Manchester United on Monday . Frank Lampard has been identified by Chelsea chiefs as the possible next manager The Italian, 60, expects the axe if Chelsea suffer another humiliation against Manchester City in Sunday's Carabao Cup final - having been on the brink since the 6-0 thrashing at the Etihad ten days ago. Zidane is the No1 target among the Stamford Bridge top brass. The Real Madrid legend, 46, who won three Champions Leagues as Bernabeu boss and another as a player, wants the top job at Chelsea - but only if they can match his terms and ambition. That includes securing a long-term deal for superstar Eden Hazard, a £200million transfer war chest and a say on new signings. Zinedine Zidane

WALLFLOWER: BROKEN

Hello TTB readers.. Hope you are having a fun day/week? What are your thoughts as regards the previous episode? Hope you're ready for a new one.. Well, Here we go...           BROKEN (Recap) I never knew that was just a preparation for more tears to come. Life gradually got back to normal after a few months.. Mum came back to the house and resumed her job. I became the centre of attention once more.. Few years later (I was about 7) I came home from school only to find mum packing our bags. She'd told me earlier that we would be going to stay with my dad. I can vividly remember how I threw a tantrum until my grandma scolded me. I continued calling my Dad "Brother" and my mum "Aunty" even after lots of persuasion from my dad to get me to call him Dad. When he asked for kisses and hugs I would refuse and no matter how heartbroken he looked, I didn't seem to care. One day, while reading a book by the side of my house, a neighbours&#

IF MY KIDS GET TO READ THIS. (A muse into the future) by Hamz. If my kids get to read this... I hope it will be in a country where mother-tongue will not be placed above father-land I hope it will be in a country where we have moved beyond mere tolerance to genuine appreciation. I hope it will be a country where the gap between the rich and poor isn't so wide and intraversable. I hope it will be in a country where true and real integrity occupies our political offices and dishonesty is a plague. If my kids get to read this... I hope it will be in a country where fishes aren't killed in oil-polluted rivers and people have to row farther only to catch less. I hope it will be in a country where families don't gather around empty bowls to the rumbling sounds of hunger in their bellies. I hope it will be in a country where kids don't get to yell at fathers, "WHY DID YOU GIVE BIRTH TO ME IF YOU COULDN'T TAKE CARE OF ME?!" I hope it will be i

LETTER TO ME: Man Vs the Mould ( No Perfect Man)

LETTER TO ME "THE MAN v THE MOULD" Andrea wasn't having any of Lola's arguments. "You can't have it both ways. You either take what you get or get nothing at all" "And who says a man can't be everything I want? Understand me, Drea. Sam is the man I want. He's not just ALL... of the man yet. Can't he be more like Shayo's boyfriend? I mean, if he was mine, he'd have checked everything on my list. But no, I get stuck with a half-made man" Lola walked to the end of the room and sunk in the cushion. "Where did you get the idea that anyone is complete? Lola, we all have flaws, even you do. Don't make poor Sam feel like less of a man for embracing his. And by the way, comparing him with Shayo's man doesn't help you". "My parents had a perfect marriage. I know because they always said they found their perfect match. Why can't Sam be perfect for me"? "Any more perfect, Lola, and
