Image
THE REVOLUTION Going through my social media accounts these past few days and never have I ever been so proud to be a Nigerian youth than now. I was in traffice caused by the protest and I was smiling all through, in my mind I was like "na my people be that". The revolution is on either will accept it or not and by God's grace we are achieving the country of our dreams. Meanwhile here is a few nuggets to get us through these revolutionary period: 1. If you are brave enough to join the protests physically please do (you might get your spouse there😉😉). Ensure it's peaceful though. However if you know you can't, join the online protests going on social media platforms. 2. Please don't fold your hands doing nothing, if you can't march out in protest, go down on your knees and cry out to God. We need prayers now more than ever. 3. Be security conscious while you are out there, either you are part of the protest or you are not. 4. If you are not in support o

FASHION TABLE WITH STEPHANIE: A NEW DAY, A NEW TRUTH

Image
A NEW DAY, A NEW TRUTH Parents listen to your children,  We are the leaders of tomorrow.... (clap clap clap)  Listen to us and echo our cry The watch dog has chased the owner out. Our fatherland treats us as unwanted guests Our homes are unsafe  Our streets are unsafe  Our country is unsafe Lazy they called us; We picked up our gear and got to work,  Now criminals they call us. Parents listen to your children, we may never make it to tomorrow.  We are being judged today, Based on the kind of car we drive, the hairstyle we keep, the phone we use, the amount of wealth we seem to be too young to have.  The judge, jury and prosecutor no longer work in the court house, they are out here in our streets today and they judge unfairly, a wrong word can be answered by the sound of gunshots. One by one the tomorrow loses leaders, we are speaking up now and there is no better time to listen. Oooh God of creation Direct our noble cause Guide our leaders to do right help the youths the truth to kno

PARADIGM: Country of my dreams 2

Image
Paradigm AThe Country of my dreams 2 #endSARS  I want to have my future secure, I want to have the freedom to dream big, I want to be able to walk, talk and smile freely; I want to be able to feel safe, I want to be able to wear whatever hair style I want without my life being threatened. I want a government that gives a damn about my life and the people around me. I want to be able to boast in confidence that I'm a Nigerian. I want to be able to say that the press is independent. I want to be a Nigerian without the threat of SARS breathing down my neck. I am proud that my generation isn't just going to sit and take it like the previous one. I'm glad that we are getting to the point that enough is enough. I'm happy that we can join hands and stand for what is right. This is not just for us but also for the future generation. I hope the fight to #endSARS is a beginning of better things to come. These things I've mentioned above seem like a simple enough thing to ach

LIFE AS IT IS: REMEMBER ME

Image
REMEMBER ME Any time our heavenly father visited us in the nursery, he always had treats. The blue one was my favorite. I didn't know the name for it. I just knew how it looked like. We slept on cloud like beds and it made our skin feel so good. We didn't wear any clothes there. Adam sin wasn't our sin. We were pure and beautiful. The day I came into existence was a beautiful day. It was the day, the holy book had said our father had rested. For us, he hadn't. He had thrown his light into my heavenly soul and it had came to light.  I and a bunch of others. Their names I didn't know, but I knew them as they knew me. Soul to soul. Moments ago, the exact time I do not know for we do not deal with time here; Father had informed me that I would be here no longer. 'This is what we have preparing you for' his voice filled with love had breathed into me. I should be prepared but I don't know why I feel so scared. Would my soul brothers remember me. Who would I

FASHION TABLE WITH STEPHANIE: HOW TO WEAR YOUR JEANS (Part 3)

Image
HOW TO WEAR YOUR JEANS (Part 3)  OK this series is becoming longer than I envisaged. I might talk about another topic before finishing it, or not. Let's sha see how it goes.  We're actually talking on how to PAIR your jean trousers today, so let's move........  How to Pair Skinny Jeans This fitted style is easy to wear and can have an incredible slimming effect on your legs while still highlighting your great curves. It's all about finding the right balance for your skinny jeans. As most skinnies come in a dark blue wash or black (these are the most flattering colours), find balance by pairing them with light coloured tops and shoes. White tops, in particular, look fantastic when paired with denim. Choose a loose, flowing style, such as off-the-shoulder tops, to balance out the extreme slim look of your pants.  How to Pair High Waisted and Mom Jeans High waisted and mom jeans are just so wrong that they’re right, there’s just something so stylish about those mid-blue,

HOW TO BE A GOOD ROAD USER Having good driving habits improves your safety behind the wheel, the safety of your passengers and the safety of the drivers around you, Thereby reducing accident on the road, and that also help your car last longer. Keep your mobile away A common misconception is that drivers think it’s okay to use their mobile phone whilst stopped at a traffic lights. However, the law states that it is illegal to use a mobile phone that is not hands free, while the engine is running. Keeping your phone off from you, while driving gives  Stick to and know the speed limit Sometimes road signs aren’t always clear about the speed limit, leaving motorists unsure about how fast they should be travelling.  Unless signs say otherwise, you should always stick to 30mph when driving on a road with street lights. Ignoring the speed limit puts yourself and other drivers at risk. To minimise your chances of being involved in an accident, you should always stick to the speed limit.   Tur

PARADIGM BY RYGLES To be or not to be I have today; Not quite certain of my tomorrow; A product of my past, And a Future very much out of my hands. To be or not to be To live or just to breed. A life to live, A cross to bear; What else is there? Despair and Pleasure? It is out of my hands. A figment of my imagination; My Vanity passion and desires; All brought to nought, If I die tomorrow; These things I can't control; To live each day, To value each breathe; To see the beauty in the pain, The joy in the sorrow; To dance in the rain, And shower in my blood, sweat and tears. To see the light in the darkness. All that I am; Is a person with fears, hopes, dreams and my vanity. To outlive my flaws and embrace my strengths. To look at myself the way he sees me. To let go of my burdens and just breathe. Since its all out of my hands. I leave it all to the maestro. After all, I'm just Clay in the hands of the potter. Are you free or are you still stuck in the platonic zone with every girl you've ever liked?  This is a read that is strictly for the guys and so therefore, ladies comot for here. Now, believe me when I say no one knows more about the friendzone than me on this earth. Seriously o. I think I’ve literally lived in it with so many girls and this is accumulated knowledge over time. Now these anecdotes are for guys who always end up as every girl’s “bestie”. Hope they save your lives.  1. Don’t be too funny with her. You can be funny around her and that is when it’s not just the two of you. But when you guys are alone, always try to keep a straight face. Not strict o, I said straight. If you’re always making her laugh, that’s exactly what you’ll always be- Joker- and never Batman. 2. Flirt with her friends but make it obvious that she’s the one you’re actually aft

INSIDE LIFE WITH GBEMI: SUGAR RUSH

Image
SUGAR RUSH!!! I'm not referring to the Nollywood movie. Sugar rush is a sudden and brief burst of energy supposedly experienced after the consumption of food or drink with a high sugar content. Consumption of sugary foods may give you those sudden bouts of energy, however, they will last for around 30-40 minutes. Blood sugar spikes are caused when a simple sugar known as glucose builds up in your bloodstream.  Symptoms like dizziness, alertness and high energy are said to be associated with the increase of sugar rush. After the consumption of sugary foods, the body produces high sose of insulin to reduce the level of sugar in the blood. Once the sugar rush comes to an end (sugar crash), it causes low sugar levels in the blood which tends to make you feel hungry even after eating sugary foods. The body requires more energy to digest sugary foods hence, leaving you with less energy which results into fatigue.  If you have eaten too much sugary foods, drink water or any other sugar-

HAMZ MUSINGS: LIBERTY ISLAND

Image
LIBERTY ISLAND   17th Century, The borders of Kinchala, a small island in West Africa. ******* Clink! Clink!! Slash!!! My olden metal manoeuvred it's way, sliting throats, ripping flesh of valiant men, blood trickled with the smell of death...the scent of victory emerging as lifeless heroes of alien descent and of Kinchala soiled the earth in great folds.  " For Kinchala!" Captain Osula cried raising his sword "For Kinchala!!!" We chorused. We had lost quite a number of our men, but we couldn't... wouldn't give up now. A Kinchala Soldier would never quit in a battle, never! He'd fight until there was no him. Our victory was close now it seemed. We'd lost a fortune at the front yet murdered in great number the traitors. It was almost night fall. We fought at the mercy of our own weakened strength now, left with less than a hundred soldiers from six hundred that we were at dawn. "For Kinchala! Victory is near us!! " I screamed in exhaus
