GLIMPSE OF HOPE WITH KENNETH

Image
THE FORMATION PROCESS OF A CHAMPION     Welcome to the Nigeria's first onestopblog, the tellrhodes blog. Amazing Saturday I must say and I can feel the vibes already. I'm super excited having you visit 'a glimpse of hope' section you are all so awesome and dear to my heart.      To everything you'll ever want to achieve in life there's a process to it, things don't just happen. Gold must pass through the process of fire for it to be appreciated and the reason for this process in life is so as to ensure maturity and long lasting result coupled with efficient productivity. So, the formation of a champion is to prepare your heart towards winning in life and not just winning but winning professionally. Champions are not born but made, nobody was born a champion, cakes don't fall from the sky it takes process to bake a cake. In essence, nobody was born a champion but by process of training a champion is made. 1. Championship is a mindset, until yo

LETTER 2 ME : POWERFUL LESSONS

Image
Dear Nathan, Must be a joy for you to see a letter from me after all this time. I can't tell you how much of a joy it is reading your letters. Seems like only yesterday we were boys and now "you are teaching me, what do you know"? (In T'Challa's voice). I sometimes wish i could come see you, but you and I know the state of the country. Traveling is not so safe anymore. Anyway, since you have written to so many letters to me, i decided to reply this time. I'm Ok, by the way. Although I'm still weeping over my dead friends in Plateau and Benue states. I hope their families are comforted. Its in times like these, that we begin to reflect and ponder what life truly is worth. I'd say its not worth much anymore (seeing as cows can't be harmed, but its okay to take lives of defenseless people. Cowards, all of them). As i was saying, it leaves you wondering what's truly important in life. I once heard a preacher say that for a dying man, what

ART GREATS; VAN GOGH : ARTEFACTS

Image
Art Greats Van Gogh Welcome to Artefacts Van Gogh is now one of the most well-known post-Impressionist painters, although he was not widely appreciated in his lifetime. Vincent Van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in Zundert in the southern Netherlands, the son of a pastor. In 1869, he took his first job, working in the Hague branch of an international art dealing firm. He began to write to his younger brother Theo, a correspondence which continued for the rest of Van Gogh's life. Van Gogh's job took him to London and Paris, but he was not interested in the work and was dismissed in 1876. He briefly became a teacher in England, and then, deeply interested in Christianity, a preacher in a mining community in southern Belgium. In 1880, at the age of 27, he decided to become an artist. He moved around, teaching himself to draw and paint and receiving financial support from Theo. In 1886, Van Gogh joined Theo in Paris, and met many artists including Degas, Toulouse-Lautr

THAT THING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS: HAMZ MUSINGS

Image
THAT THING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS Good day thought leaders, welcome on board to Hamz's Musings  once again. Today, let's talk about  THAT THING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS. Dear Young Man, I hope you are feeling fantastic today. Errm... Let us talk about that thing between your legs for a bit, shall we? Please do you know Ron Jeremy? How about John Holmes? Ok, Chuck Negron? You don't know them? I guessed as much. I don't think they've had much positive impact on very many people's life. As a matter of fact, I think it is the opposite. Ron Jeremy is quoted to have slept with over 4,000 females and served as judge for the reality TV Show, "Next American Porn Star". John Holmes, a prolific porn star and drug abuser, claimed to have slept with 14,000 females. He died of AIDS- of course after sharing it to others. Chuck Negron's number is so astronomical that his male organ, according to his autobiography, literally burst open from prolonged tumescence whi

EPISODE NINE LIBERTY : GRACE DAVID'S CORNER

Image
EPISODE NINE Still enthralled by the painting that hung before him, he was oblivious to everything else – the noise from the other participants faded into the background as he held the gaze of the faceless abstract figure that was all eyes and tears. It was a dark brooding piece that spoke more volumes than he could fathom. He just had to meet the painter. As if in answer to his wish, a girl appeared at his side all smiles and ready to help. She must be one of the volunteers around considering her black dress which was similar to the one worn by the others. But he wanted to see the artiste if that wasn’t too much to ask. She bowed off politely and just when he was giving up on having his request met. “I stripped my soul too bare in this piece, I wonder why you still want a commentary,” the soft voice came and he looked down to find her standing beside him. Small, fragile, whispery, too beautiful to be solid yet he fell and continued falling. “Uhm I am sorry, I am not really into

Grief & Letting go : MENTAL HEALTH TALK WITH TIANA

Image
Welcome to " Mental health" talk with Tiana Hope you had a great day Today, we will be talking about "Death, Grief and Letting go" Death is one of the few surest thing in the world, we are never quite ready for it: a phone call, a text message, you are surfing the web and boom we find out that someone died. Whether the person was dear to us or to someone we don't really know well, or a public figure, we probably aren’t very well prepared to deal with the situation. Sadly, day-to-day life doesn’t teach us what to do when a loved one dies. The knowledge you acquire from school does not help with it either. Yet how we react to the death of someone close to us or console someone who has lost a friend or a relative can go a long way in bringing comfort and closure. In either situation, there are things that can help. There are many ironies when somebody dies. First of all, “the person you need most to help you through this experience is the person who just

LESSONS FROM NIGERIA VS ARGENTINA

Image
LESSONS FROM NIGERIA VS ARGENTINA... Nigeria 1 - 2 Argentina. I waited until the end of the match before creating a content for today, because I intended to learn and expound a lesson from whatever outcome that is realised. I write with a heavy heart now, but I learnt, and I console every other Nigerian who is in the same fit with me at the moment. Two lessons surface: 1. KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS Argentina kept on asking questions of us, sometimes unnecessary questions that were not to be entertained. They pressurized our team, pushed us to the board and gave no breathing space. The effect was that they were able to score their winning goal in good time to see them through the group. They picked holes of our defence and buried their opportunity well in the net. I could go on analyzing this but the paramount thing of note here is that - when you keep on asking questions, you will find breakthrough. Each attempt draws you nearer to your to success and achievement. 2. NEVER LOSE

Rafael Nadal reclaims ATP top spot ahead of Wimbledon as the CBN Senior Open clicks into full gear It's interesting how a lot can change in just a few days. Freshly crowned French Open champion, Rafael Nadal lost the world number one ranking to Roger Federer after the Swiss returned to action to claim the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart last week. However, on Sunday, 24 June, Rafaeal Nadal reclaimed it after Roger Federer failed to defend his title at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle. Federer not only missed out on what would have been his 99th career title after his loss to Croatia's Borna Coric, he will also miss out on being the top seed heading into Wimbledon. This means Nadal will be world number one and top seed when Wimbledon kicks off in less than a fortnight. Elsewhere in Nairabo, Kenya, the Nigerian team to the Davis Cup, which comprised Joseph Imeh, Christian Paul, Sylvester Emmanuel and Abdulmumin Babalola, despite their impressive performances in the group stage

Chances are if you're reading this you have a smartphone, but there are hidden features you probably didn't know about. But worry not, every Tuesday, u can catch me on thetellrhodesblog and I'd be glad to share with you. Today we'd be starting with some little feature to help find out if your Android device is being spied on by a third party. If we talk about an Android operating system, the reason people choose Android over other mobile OS is that this platform has different kind of features for every particular purpose. Today in this virtual world, there are so many security issues like lots of viruses, malware, trojans, and keylogger’s that can influence our devices. Most of the malware is targeted to an Android operating system because Android is now powering a majority of smartphones. Safety should always be our top priority in these cases. Here we are going to mention few sho

PLATEAU STATE CRISIS : HERDS MEN OR SELFISH POLITICALLY MOTIVATED ACTS

Image
Fresh attacks occurred in Barkin Ladi local government area of plateau state Nigeria, with police reporting 11people dead at first but now death toll has increased to about 86 people, about 50houses were completely burnt down among loss of other properties. While a lot of people have blamed it on the herdsmen some have also said they were provoked into this inhumane act. After some youths who are members of the communities where killings occurred stole and killed about 300 cows in the last few weeks, and this youths have been protected by the communities who are could have fished them out and submitted them to authorities. But it is also believed that this killings have been sponsored by politicians who have sworn to make the country ungovernable but are this lives both those on the recent killings in plateau and that in the north east the boko haram too much of a price to pay for cows or political ambition! Presently there is a dusk to dawn curfew order in the state. Pra

RELATIONSHIP TALK WITH RAY

Image
Good day everyone and welcome to relationship talk with...Ray. IN A RELATIONSHIP A smile is the most powerful 5letered words in the world really cheap yet work wonders, a smile is not something you can buy its something you earn, when you are forced to smile, its no longer called a smile, a smile comes from the inner most part of the heart. It is one of the greatest way of expressing happiness, that means for one to smile they must be happy. A smile has the power to change the concept of a relationship, the strength of a relationship is measured by the level of smiles present, smiles in a relationship is like the fuel that keeps the relationship going, so if you want your relationship to sow higher you need to make sure you fuel your relationship with lots of smiles. When everything seems not to be working fine, smile!  When your spouse is angry and you are at the verge of getting angry, don't, just smile!! When you are not getting the happiness you deserve don't get mad

SELF CONTROL : OPENED MY EYES

Image
SELF-CONTROL Good day people!!! Welcome again to the Opened My Eyes section. I trust you had an awesome week. Today, we discuss an all important fruit of the Spirit: SELF-CONTROL. In case you don't remember the fruit of the Spirit or you played truancy at Sunday School, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 NIV I personally am all for living a life characterised by love but recently the Holy Spirit has been teaching me all about self-control. Control over oneself is so KEY especially in the days we are where there is freedom of information and one's failures can be broadcast in seconds. We must try by the Spirit of God to control our bodies and our minds. One thing I know teaches us that we are not bound by our urges is fasting. If you've fasted before and your stomach has growled repeatedly yet you fired on till the fa

THE ERRORS YOU MAKE WHILE DRESSED IN NATIVE ATTIRES A delightful day to every one out there, welcome to another segment of Style Zone....... Today's topic of discussion would centered on the men, ladies Kindly forgive me. Mingling with people over time has caused me to spot the little errors that men make while dressed in Native attires which gives their entire look a no-no. I know we said in this new Era "there are no rules" but excellence is in the little details we overlook. I'd like to Share a post which would be useful to a number of people #1 Get yourself a proper wristwatch, a really classy piece either in leather or a chain strap depending on your preference. #2 Avoid wearing native attires with leather slippers including Pam Sandals for special occasions or events such as weddings, cocktail parties, Grand Occasions..... You can do this for casual affairs and dress down occasions. #3 For all types of native wears, never make the mistake of wearing shoe

THE POWER OF ADEQUATE PREPARATION: GLIMPSE OF HOPE

THE POWER OF ADEQUATE PREPARATION    Good day to you, it's another Saturday and I'm always looking forward to Saturdays because I know you'll always be right here on tellrhodes blog to catch up with your favourite segment 'a glimpse of hope'. Your presence mean a lot to us on the blog and me in particular.     Today we shall be considering a very interesting topic: the power of adequate preparation.     We are living in a time where people don't really want to pay attention to adequately taking time to prepare for what they want to do but one thing you should know is the days of shabby performance are over. People just want to get over the surface and expect an amazing result, want to put in very little or no effort but want an incredible result. People are so much in a hurry to appear but not so patient to take root downwards in adequate preparation. There's a popular saying that “proper private preparation prevents poor public performance ”. When emb
