I like to begin with questions these days as they are always a good place to start. I ask you : What is your expectation when you ask God for something. Before you give in to force of habit and speak christianese, I want you to think deeply about it. What is the posture of your heart when you ask? Do you really believe you will receive? The passage is extracted from Acts 10 where Peter had a vision where a sheet from heaven was lowered with "unclean" animals and God asked him to kill and eat. 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock? Heyyy TTB fam! I hope you are doing well. Welcome once again to the Opened My Eyes section of the blog (your favourite section). It's a new week so let's go in with our eyes wide open. When you hear 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock, I bet at least one of these comes to mind : Random times of day, favourite prayer times or choices for when to break your fast. Any other day, you would not be wrong but today we are looking at the clock differently. First off, remove the digital clock from your mind and let us return to the days of the long hand and short hand telling us the time. Now that we are in the olden days, my question is what are the positions of the long and short hands at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock? Any difference? Did I hear somebody say no? Chaiii. UNASHAMED Hey there! I hope you are well and living the best life you can right now! If not, you must begin that today. Today on Opened My Eyes, we talk about being unashamed. But just before we talk about being unashamed, why would someone be ashamed?. There are many reasons perhaps but I believe that two reasons stand out. You are either ashamed because you KNOW who you are or DO NOT know who you are. I was telling my girlfriend today that when I was younger and less aware, I frowned upon being called a pastor or evangelist or anything like that. He is so real, so relatable, so practical. There are a lot of benefits to having the Holy Spirit within you and telling you all the secret things but the MOST important benefit, the greatest reward of that fellowship is the fellowship itself! Much Better Heyyy folks! Welcome again to "OPENED MY EYES" with yours truly. It is always a delight having you here. Last week if you were here, you read a post expressing how tired I was and how I was struggling to pray and losing battles I thought I had won. All those were facts NOT TRUTH. Truth never changes. The truth is I am a Child of God, justified, sanctified and glorified. In the course of the week I found my footing in God again and I am refreshed. Relax, I plan to tell you what happened still. Just before I get to the specifics, let me share a popular scripture: " But those who trust in the Lord will become strong again. They will be like eagles that grow new feathers. I Need You Heyy folks! It's been ages hasn't it?. I hope you missed me and longed to hear from me again. I'm struggling. I've been struggling for some time now. We feel bad when we admit this and people often pity others when they hear those words "I'm struggling". Honestly struggle is a good thing. It means we want more! We are tired of the status quo. I'm tired! So very tired! It's been a long week, I've barely prayed, I feel like my fasts were hunger strikes and nothing more because I feel my week was devoid of God's presence. I've fallen. ENCOUNTER Good day dear reader. Welcome once again to the Opened My Eyes corner. I am glad we made it. Last week, I shared a post that was rather unusual for me and I'm sure it was for all those who follow my writing as well . All I said was "FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!". We had a workers' retreat from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon last week(the 14th to 15th) and my friend, I saw, felt and tasted the move of God like I never knew I could. Usually,people surpress thoughts of death because thinking about dying is apparently "a reason to be worried". The truth is you ought to think about death as that is the finish line for this race and to remain focused on how you arrive, the destination must remain in view. I know when people want to get us to behave a certain way, they use the "what do you want to be remembered as/for?" and "what do you want people to say about you when you're gone?" lines. Falling in Love with Jesus Heyy there! Welcome to another "episode" of "Opened My Eyes". I trust you have been well since the last one. Falling in Love is a beautiful thing. Forget what anyone says. I know there's a lot of hate for love and so many people say there's no such thing either because of a few bad experiences (personal or otherwise) or they just do not know. Anyone who has ever fallen in love will tell you it's a surreal experience. The icing on the cake is when you are in love with someone who is just as or even more in love with you. I had a "major" event to host and it involved mobilising people to contribute and participate. I had tried severally to get these people to participate with little or no luck. As one naturally would, I began to worry, to get anxious and of course get frustrated soon after. That song popped up at some point and I had it repeat to let the words sink in my spirit. Brother/Sister's Keeper? Really? Heyy there once again. Great to have you in this corner. I trust you had a lovely week and weekend. Today we talk about a responsibility most Christians have forgotten about: "looking out for one another". In other words, we have forgotten about being our brethren's keeper. Now being your brother's (or sister's) keeper is twofold. On one end there's watching out for possible threats or danger and warning them and there's ensuring you are not the source of harm. Generally, people neglect both sides these days but moreso "part 2".  We often fail to consider how our actions rub off on our fellow men and women and this is very dangerous for all of us. What made me write this? You may call it one-sided but I have been extremely disturbed by the rate at which ladies not only display body parts that were in the "good" days deemed private with reckless abandon and even go further to justify it...
