OPENED MY EYES: HELP

HELP!!!!!
Heyy there! Welcome once again(or hopefully for the first time) to the Opened My Eyes Corner. I hope you had a fantastic week!

Before we talk about today's topic let's talk about the topic itself. I was thinking of what to title this and I thought to ask for help with a title and guess what? HELP was the title I was looking for.

Now on to the substance behind the topic *rubs palms*. Do you remember that story in the Bible of Jesus sleeping while his disciples were panicking as a storm threatened their very lives? Well if you don't know it then you can read it in Mark 4 starting from verse 35.

For those of us who have read or heard it many times, it's not such a big deal. I mean Jesus was sleeping, the storm came, his disciples were screaming for their mummies and then they woke Jesus up and he stilled the storm yeah? Well not quite.

As I read an excerpt from that story today, what caught my eye was that His disciples asked "master don't you care that we are perishing?" And then Jesus arose and rebuked the wind. I had always thought the disciples were asking for help by saying that but today I saw differently.

Look at what happened after Jesus stilled the storm. They were astonished and asked what manner of man He was that the wind and sea obey Him. It hit me, their statement about caring if they perished was not a call for help but a reprimand(for want of a better word). It was like "Jesus we are going to die and you are sleeping, what is wrong with you sir?". They had no expectation of a solution of that nature from Jesus. They did not know who He really was at the time.

Where am I going? Well many of us are like that. We have Jesus in our boats but do not know who He truly is and what He is capable of. We call to Him in trouble but do not really have faith that He can solve our problems. We MUST have faith completely in Jesus not just so He can still our storms but so we never get worked up in the first place. I hope your eyes have been opened today.

Till next time, enjoy God's presence. Thanks for reading. Shalom
