TARDY REVIEWER: PLAN B MOVIE REVIEW

The Tardy Reviewer Movie Title: Plan B Release Date: Feb. 14th 2019 So the month of love just passed so I shouldn't be reviewing a movie released for that purpose right? Love has no season o and the movie I am about to review is a simple, beautiful and sappy movie that ticks off all the items on every girl's fantasy. Fine man - check, rich man - check, crazy coincidence - check, conflict that ends with a kiss and a hug - check. So what's there not to love about Lowladee's Plan B? The dialogue was just right, the location transported me to magical Kenya and the soundtrack made me realize something - Kenyans can sing o. The maturity of the cast in interpreting their roles was comforting, for someone who has been bombarded with on screen and off screen histrionics enough to want something different. Even Joyce played by Kate-Kamau Karanja didn't fall into that category of noisemakers. I know you want me to stop the hype and tell you the story. I won't, go and...

TARDY REVIEWER: MOVIE: The Hate You Give

The Hate You Give Release Date: 19th October 2018 This movie started for me when Khalil walked into that party. Not only because I love fine boys but because I knew he would stand for an entire community even before he reached for that hairbrush and ended on the ashphalt, bathed in his own blood. Tupac's gospel was preached through out the movie. If you teach your kids to hate other kids or be wary of them because of the color of their skin you will have police officers ready to shoot at the slightest sign of danger or illusion of danger. Another strength I noticed is the storytelling prowess. Each character was developed individually. Khalil's character may have been shot but he lived throughout the movie. His death shook Starr out of her mundane, mind numbing routine of been two versions of herself and she lives up to her name when she could finally speak up. She stops been the safe black girl and becomes confident in her heritage. She finally becomes one with her commun...

TARDY REVIEWER: LION HEART MOVIE REVIEW

Image
LIONHEART Release Date: September 7th 2018 (I am the tardy reviewer after all) Lionheart is a movie about a family business almost crumbling to nothing after the CEO Chief Ernest Obiagu played by Pete Edochie made an unguarded decision, leaving the company in great debt. Unable to do anything partly due to his bad health and financial state. He sends in his brother Chief Godswill played by Nkem Owoh to perform damage control to the disappointment of his daughter Adaeze. In the end she would have had it no other way as his unorthodox strategies and no nonsense yet comical approach to the challenges encountered yields results and keeps her from losing her mind. The introduction of Alhaji Maikano and his son was a subtle hint at the need for unity between us all as Nigerians regardless of our location on the map. The budding romance between Adaeze and the Northerner was so mild and a minute part of the movie that made me appreciate the movie's maturity. Not because I am not a hop...

TARDY REVIEWER: MOVIE REVIEWS

THE TARDY REVIEWER So it turns out I have a thing for seeing a movie beyond a form of entertainment. A good movie can transport me from my immediate environment to a world beyond my touch. So the opportunity to share this magical world with other people came up on the Tellrhodes blog and I snatched it. But be warned I am the Tardy Reviewer and I wouldn't mind reviewing a movie after its release a few months back, but what else is better than having to revisit the amazing lives of our favorite characters with a better insight of what they are all about. Join me every Sunday on this platform and don't forget that bucket of popcorn and those opinions your other friends don't want to be bothered with! Post By: Grace david
