A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY : INFERNO

It's really being quite a long time on this session. You might choose to call it a break or a time out, but all the same you are gracefully welcome back to your favourite blog TTB. Alot have happened during this break and I would really love to share this with you but like I said it 'alot'. But I guess is should tell you about an epidemic disease that is eating deep into the minds of our youths. This disease is most neglected undermined, it is called "DEPRESSION". We the entire house have being receiving incessant reports about cases of suicide which is mostly the end result of an untreated depression. And if you stay close to your radio, TV or phones, you must have heard cases of depression too. This is a very serious case.  It is in line with this that I decided to share this awesome piece by ANYABOLU IFEANYI GENTLE. Enjoy and reflect. INFERNO As I watched from far away, Under the sun sending down its rays, Not willing to stare any longer,  And about to ...

WHAT KIND OF INDEPENDENCE ARE WE REALLY CELEBRATING?

WHAT KIND OF INDEPENDENCE ARE WE REALLY CELEBRATING? Hello people, welcome to another session with iNAS. I always look forward to Tuesdays, to ask you this motivating question; what are you doing to improve yourself on a daily? What new book are you reading? What new skill are you learning ? This also serves me as a reminder. Remember the popular maxim " An idle man..., I know you can complete it. Once again welcome to this session. Let me share this thought. It's a common truth most are scared to admit. I woke up yesterday and no body greeted me "good morning", Though, I wasn't really bordered, 'cos I'm not really a greeting kind of person. The only thing I get to hear being substituted for the traditional morning pleasantry is that everyone is telling me " HAPPY INDEPENDENCE". Happy what!! Well should I say its funny or provoking. What form of "INDEPENDENCE" are we really celebrating? Maybe we are celebrating a 'territori...

A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY WITH JAMES INA'S

It's another wonderful week. And as usual how fruitful was your previous week? Well its always being a question you get to answer yourself. And today I learnt about "humility vs success" in a very illuminating way;      John 12:24__Verily, verily, I say unto          you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. Phil 2:6,7___:Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name... Take our time to go through the full chapter. Learn and grow daily. Alright to the business of the day: My last post about the "Warsan Shire" ac...

A TRIP TO THE WOTLRLD OF FANTASY WITH JAMES INA'S

Image
He was a young charming good boy And everybody liked him Everyone wanted to be his friend Because he really got life inside him And like every other youngster He had visions, plans and ambitions He worked for everything he wanted He loved competitions and most people would often times call him a genius Oh!! What a persona that was short lived He relocated and found himself in a street at the base of a hill At first it was all good till He started making friends who at First pretend to be chill Months passed, reality unfolded. He now wakes up in a pool of beast Some he called friends, Now growling and exaggerating every of his flaws like a a bunch of cannibals on a human feast Like firemen armed with extinguishers ready to quench every fire he struggles to lit He became a victim Of negative vibes shot from a distance like 100years rusted bullets shot from a pistol He became a victim of careless words not just from friends but parent and siblings And These words no...

Hello everyone, its really been a long "break in transmission", but all the same I missed you guys. Once again welcome to a " trip to the world of fantasy " with James Inas. As usual how was your last week? Hope you improved yourself? Read a new book? Learnt a new skill? It's important you grow in some way daily you know. On this return, I would love to talk about a young African female poet that amazes me with her work. Her name is " Warsan Shire". Warsan Shire is a Kenyan-born Somali poet and writer who is based in London. She is popularly known for her poetry being adapted into Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” album. Her work explores the topics of gender, war, sex, and cultural assumptions. Her body of work includes Teaching My Mother How to Give Birth, released in 2011, Her Blue Body and Our Men Do Not Belong to Us, both released in 2015. She is passionate about character-driven poetry that tells the stories of people, especially immigrants and re...

Welcome to this week on a " trip to the world of fantasy " with James Inas. As usual how was your weekend hope you made the best out of it?. Over the week I was privileged to host an academic event in my department in school. It was more of an orientation and sensitisation of what philosophy actually is, and its place in all disciplines as well as its value to humanity. In the course of this lecture some other side attractions went down. And in a closing remark given by a lecturer I respect so much, he said " ...do not take whatever you do for granted, because you don't know the effect or the result it might produce". This was the major lesson for me that day. You might as well keep this in mind as you do whatever you do. And back to you the business of the day, because of the AJUMA series I have not being able to feature other peoples piece. Today I will featuring an excerpt from a writer I respect so much for his subtlety in creating raged atmospheres o...

LESSONS FROM NIGERIA VS ARGENTINA

Image
LESSONS FROM NIGERIA VS ARGENTINA... Nigeria 1 - 2 Argentina. I waited until the end of the match before creating a content for today, because I intended to learn and expound a lesson from whatever outcome that is realised. I write with a heavy heart now, but I learnt, and I console every other Nigerian who is in the same fit with me at the moment. Two lessons surface: 1. KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS Argentina kept on asking questions of us, sometimes unnecessary questions that were not to be entertained. They pressurized our team, pushed us to the board and gave no breathing space. The effect was that they were able to score their winning goal in good time to see them through the group. They picked holes of our defence and buried their opportunity well in the net. I could go on analyzing this but the paramount thing of note here is that - when you keep on asking questions, you will find breakthrough. Each attempt draws you nearer to your to success and achievement. 2. NEVER LOSE ...

AJUMA (GRAND FINALE ) -A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY

Wow what a wonderful week of celebration! Happy Sallah to our Muslim brothers and to some of us that ceased that opportunity to travel to visit loved ones. Welcome to a new week with James Inas on "a trip to the world of fantasy". For some of you that have being following my series, today I will be posting the last episode of "AJUMA". And this episode is like the height of it all... Let's take a little detour as usual, during the week I travelled to see my aunty in Ankpa. Last I saw her was when I was 12years, then she visited Enugu for the first time. But This time when visited her, of course she has grown older and I could barely recognize her when she came to pick me up from the park. Later when we got to the house a dialogue ensued and she said somethings to me that I think I should share. One important thing that struck me was her " fishing" metaphor of life. She said that life is like a fishing activity, where the Fisher man throws his net in d...

AJUMA (Episode 3): A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY WITH JAMES INA'S

Hello everyone, this previous week was really fast. But all the same we are grateful and thankful to God for a successful week. I hope you made the best out of it. Still on my "AJUMA" series. Today I will be posting the episode 3. For followers of this series, you are free to drop your critiques, comments and follow my social media handles for more lovely write ups. Before I  post the episode 3 of the series, I would want to share something that will help our course of living and fulfillment. Its called " Time and Engagements". And when I say Engagements, I mean a resourceful one. I discovered that I tend to recount wasteful days ands weeks if they are not planned. Like I tend to go to unnecessary places, spend massive time chit-chatting,follow an unconscious wavy schedules. And at the end I tend to achieve little or nothing. So, time management is not as important as "what" the time is being invested in. So as we start this week be conscious of what yo...

AJUMA EPISODE 2: A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY WITH JAMES INA'S

This week on AJUMA series. The dialogue continues between the father and the mother. Episode 2 ... Father:      Patiently, to gods our fate;      The base of our piety      The substance of our faith,       In whom is no anxiety       Hopefully, in due course      We shall find our course. Mother:       Shall we not seek course       In some other means?       Mere rites to our fathers      Would not cost any means?... (So the desperation burnt wildly seeking answers as to why she was blessed partially. As in why she has being able to birth 5boys but no girl. She really wants a girl maybe not by all means at this time...) IG: d_base_official FB: Dee base

A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY WITH INA'S: AJUMA

Image
Last week I made announcement about a series titled "AJUMA". By the grace of God, I will be starting this amazing piece today. Before then, I want to share some awesome tips with you. Pacing through my week, trying as much as I could to get useful, I discovered some viable tips that can attract life energy to your purpose and drive them to reality. They are three keys *"Prayer ,Faith, and Mindset"*. You can get busy by making research on these three powerful and explosive guide for greatness. So lets go back to the " AJUMA" series. The first episode is about a dialogue between the parents of AJUMA before she was born. Note: there might be usage of dialectical expressions specifically 'Igala language'. Episode 1 Series: *AJUMA* Writer: James Inas Father:            Ufedó mi, maybe the potency            To have a female child            Is denied by my own potency.     ...

A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY WITH INAS;

Image
Welcome to another week with ¶nas and as usual the week seems promising, with all the posts that will be coming to you from this blog to add to your library of knowledge. Most importantly, I hope you did not make a mess of last week? And I hope you got at least an inch closer to your dreams? Ok! Before I drop what's for today,i'll start with a philosophy that might help your daily living "Always expect the best, but be prepared for the worst". The danger of always expecting the best is gross,so it is with being just prepared for the worst. This might sound pessimistic but its a healthy mindset. Know this, the universe is composed of opposites : up and down, left and right, good and bad,man and woman, etc none of these phenomena can exist without each other. For instance, can there be good if there is no bad? Can there be up without down? And vice versa. Therefore these opposites are what make the universe a whole. Our mindset is like a universe that is composed of ...

A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY WITH JAMES INAS

Hello You and you! Wow its another day with your favorite host on *"A trip to the world of fantasies "* ____James Inas. So how has being your week? Regardless of how it seems unending, what matter most is what you make out of it. Do you record an improvement or achievement? Last week was awesome you know. I featured one of the best writers in Mark town ( Markurdi ) ,by the pen name @oche_writes. A work of his, titled " murder on 15th street". That piece was short, detailed and awesome. Big ups to him!! On this week, I came across a piece written by Kru Cherie, a Liberian. This piece with its nostalgic nature, inspired me to make out the same piece only from another perspective that comes down to our culture, background and lifestyle. Here is the wonderful piece, though made mostly with some Igala undertone, enjoy.                       Tittle: Spicy, Acoustic Song Written by kru Cherie Edited by:James Inas From the roaring of...

If you've not, you need to follow @oche_writes on IG to know some basic keys for doing so. Last week we featured ABUH Ojima Immanuel's piece titled "I was but a child". A piece that sums up childhood rebelion and ignorance with the unwavering mothers love. And if you missed that episode you'll need to read it up. This week we have one the finest,if not the best spoken word artiste, writer, speaker in Mark- Town precisely Markurdi,Nigeria. Oche Victor popularly known as Oche Writes is a Writer, Speaker and Creative director. He is known for his love for poetry and his ability to use words and channel them into inspiring the most part of our generation. In his words in an interview with him he describes himself as a god-fly that stings people into consciousnesses. Let's see what he has for us. I WAS BUT A CHIL...

A TRIP TO THE WORLD OF FANTASY WITH INAS

Wow, its Tuesday again. How fast time flies. It's another week with Inas and today was supposed to be the day to announce the winner of the little poem exercise buy follows of this section on TTB website. But unfortunately we received no post. All the same I still hope lovers of poem get to exercise the  poet in them. Today I will be dropping a piece just for your pleasure. VICTIMIZED Slowly she built an edge, Fenced right about her, With bricks of carefulness, Fear and ignorance. And On her gate was a keep off signage. It worked; I mean her pledge, No invaders but kin were far, Despite her cheerfulness. The walls grew thicker with Her Endurance, Her defence turned her bait, Naivety; wisdom of her age. Now she wishes to fledge, For she is now a prisoner, Made of rawness, forcefulness Tinted with "undeemed" clairvoyance. But in regret she now waits For a poet to rewrite the page Of what she's become... Iπas... Remember all critiques are welco...

A Trip to the world of Fantasy with Inas

Image
Welcome to another lovely moment with James Inas. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today I want to walk you down the line of how the most beautiful poems are made. You do not have to study the entire figures of speech and literary devices for you to write nice poems,(even though its necessary to have the knowledge of them). You must not read the dictionary back to back, knowing jaw breaking vocabularies for you to be a good poet. After all, what's the need of a piece if nobody understands it, or rather what's the need of a piece if the reader has to look up the meaning of every word in the excerpt. And trust me the best poems are made out of simple words. Now don't get it wrong, some poems are actually made vague intentionally for some reasons, which we may not discuss in this context. But for me the beauty of a poem is beyond the letters, words, format applied, it is rather "the deciphering of the realities expressed in word facades which give life". Just like...

A trip to the world of fantasy with Mr INA's- PHENOMENAL WOMAN

Image
Hello guys, welcome to another week of "A trip to the world of fantasy". Last week the greatest event in human history took place. Well to some it might not be great and significant the way I exaggerated it, but my undying love for mothers is boundless; especially my Mum. This event celebrated mothers world wide and I hope you participated well in this celebration. With that said, let's deal the business of the day. Going through my archive I found something interesting. A piece that only informs my senses about  the definition of self love and esteem. A piece from  "An acclaimed" American poet, storyteller, activist, and autobiographer. She is Maya Angelo. The first time I came across this poem I could not control the "wowness urge" that bursted out. Phenomenal woman by Maya Angelo: Wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size, But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I ...

A Trip to the World of Fantasy: EDO(Conscience)

Hi everyone, welcome to "A Trip to The World of Fantasy" with James Inas. A lot of people develop reserved attitude or invariably hatred for poems for reasons like ; "Its boring"," I don't understand it", " English too much",lol. And some for the sole reason that it uses words outside their literal meaning. The truth is, these constitute the beauty of poetry. On this session, we will sail together to a world created with "Just words", which depicts LIFE in precision, this world is my own REALITY. Note: All poems are composed and written exclusively by James Inas. Let's take a look at this newly written piece tittled ÈDÒ (conscience) She was always there To tell me lies About what I call love, About my compromise, About my pain. She wakes every of my Consciousness, To my stupidity & vulnerability, To my already shrouded Ethics and ideal, To my lost self vaccines, Hung before me But of course I can't se...
