1. ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME: Good cake makers may get booked up so make sure you place your order early...Bear in mind that rich fruit cakes take several months to mature. Aim to book your wedding cake a year in advance, six months maximum
2.RECOMMENDATIONS : Talk to relatives,friends,colleagues anyone who can recommend or advice against! Cake makers....this is one of the best ways to suss out a good cake maker
3. YOUR CHOICE: If you've got a clear idea of what you'd like your cake to look like,write it down ,draw a sketch or collect pictures from magazines that have inspired you. The more information you can give your cake maker, the more likely they are to create the cake of your dreams.
4. PRICING: Be wise when it comes to the price. Having a professional wedding cake made for you is not cheap ,but if you have your wits about you , you can avoid spending more than you'd planned to. Remember that adding extra tiers or decorations will increase cost,particularly if the work is time consuming. Always ask if there are likely to be added extras such as stand hire or delivery. For example if you're getting married on a hot sunny day perhaps during hot summer season its adviceable not to use butter icing because it could melt due to heat.....
