THE FORMATION PROCESS OF A CHAMPION     Welcome to the Nigeria's first onestopblog, the tellrhodes blog. Amazing Saturday I must say and I can feel the vibes already. I'm super excited having you visit 'a glimpse of hope' section you are all so awesome and dear to my heart.      To everything you'll ever want to achieve in life there's a process to it, things don't just happen. Gold must pass through the process of fire for it to be appreciated and the reason for this process in life is so as to ensure maturity and long lasting result coupled with efficient productivity. So, the formation of a champion is to prepare your heart towards winning in life and not just winning but winning professionally. Champions are not born but made, nobody was born a champion, cakes don't fall from the sky it takes process to bake a cake. In essence, nobody was born a champion but by process of training a champion is made. 1. Championship is a mindset, until yo...

LETTER 2 ME : POWERFUL LESSONS

Image
Dear Nathan, Must be a joy for you to see a letter from me after all this time. I can't tell you how much of a joy it is reading your letters. Seems like only yesterday we were boys and now "you are teaching me, what do you know"? (In T'Challa's voice). I sometimes wish i could come see you, but you and I know the state of the country. Traveling is not so safe anymore. Anyway, since you have written to so many letters to me, i decided to reply this time. I'm Ok, by the way. Although I'm still weeping over my dead friends in Plateau and Benue states. I hope their families are comforted. Its in times like these, that we begin to reflect and ponder what life truly is worth. I'd say its not worth much anymore (seeing as cows can't be harmed, but its okay to take lives of defenseless people. Cowards, all of them). As i was saying, it leaves you wondering what's truly important in life. I once heard a preacher say that for a dying man, what ...

ART GREATS; VAN GOGH : ARTEFACTS

Image
Art Greats Van Gogh Welcome to Artefacts Van Gogh is now one of the most well-known post-Impressionist painters, although he was not widely appreciated in his lifetime. Vincent Van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in Zundert in the southern Netherlands, the son of a pastor. In 1869, he took his first job, working in the Hague branch of an international art dealing firm. He began to write to his younger brother Theo, a correspondence which continued for the rest of Van Gogh's life. Van Gogh's job took him to London and Paris, but he was not interested in the work and was dismissed in 1876. He briefly became a teacher in England, and then, deeply interested in Christianity, a preacher in a mining community in southern Belgium. In 1880, at the age of 27, he decided to become an artist. He moved around, teaching himself to draw and paint and receiving financial support from Theo. In 1886, Van Gogh joined Theo in Paris, and met many artists including Degas, Toulouse-Lautr...

THAT THING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS: HAMZ MUSINGS

Image
THAT THING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS Good day thought leaders, welcome on board to Hamz's Musings  once again. Today, let's talk about  THAT THING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS. Dear Young Man, I hope you are feeling fantastic today. Errm... Let us talk about that thing between your legs for a bit, shall we? Please do you know Ron Jeremy? How about John Holmes? Ok, Chuck Negron? You don't know them? I guessed as much. I don't think they've had much positive impact on very many people's life. As a matter of fact, I think it is the opposite. Ron Jeremy is quoted to have slept with over 4,000 females and served as judge for the reality TV Show, "Next American Porn Star". John Holmes, a prolific porn star and drug abuser, claimed to have slept with 14,000 females. He died of AIDS- of course after sharing it to others. Chuck Negron's number is so astronomical that his male organ, according to his autobiography, literally burst open from prolonged tumescence whi...

EPISODE NINE LIBERTY : GRACE DAVID'S CORNER

Image
EPISODE NINE Still enthralled by the painting that hung before him, he was oblivious to everything else – the noise from the other participants faded into the background as he held the gaze of the faceless abstract figure that was all eyes and tears. It was a dark brooding piece that spoke more volumes than he could fathom. He just had to meet the painter. As if in answer to his wish, a girl appeared at his side all smiles and ready to help. She must be one of the volunteers around considering her black dress which was similar to the one worn by the others. But he wanted to see the artiste if that wasn’t too much to ask. She bowed off politely and just when he was giving up on having his request met. “I stripped my soul too bare in this piece, I wonder why you still want a commentary,” the soft voice came and he looked down to find her standing beside him. Small, fragile, whispery, too beautiful to be solid yet he fell and continued falling. “Uhm I am sorry, I am not really into ...

Grief & Letting go : MENTAL HEALTH TALK WITH TIANA

Image
Welcome to " Mental health" talk with Tiana Hope you had a great day Today, we will be talking about "Death, Grief and Letting go" Death is one of the few surest thing in the world, we are never quite ready for it: a phone call, a text message, you are surfing the web and boom we find out that someone died. Whether the person was dear to us or to someone we don't really know well, or a public figure, we probably aren’t very well prepared to deal with the situation. Sadly, day-to-day life doesn’t teach us what to do when a loved one dies. The knowledge you acquire from school does not help with it either. Yet how we react to the death of someone close to us or console someone who has lost a friend or a relative can go a long way in bringing comfort and closure. In either situation, there are things that can help. There are many ironies when somebody dies. First of all, “the person you need most to help you through this experience is the person who just ...
