FASHION TABLE WITH STEPHANIE: BUSINESS CASUAL: The precarious balance.
BUSINESS CASUAL: The precarious balance.
There is no generally agreed definition of "business casual". One definition of business casual states that it is casual wear that contains smart components like blazers, sport jackets, dress shirts, necktie etc.
Business casual is not clothing you would wear to a club or for athletic purposes.... Don’t let the word casual mislead you. You still need to look professional depending on your specific industry and employer.
Forbes further explained this by saying;
"Technology firms and creative agencies are known for having more casual atmospheres that lend themselves to less formal work wear.But even as more industries loosen their dress code, the line may actually be less blurred than it seems.
Fields like finance and legal still tend to be ‘buttoned up,’ even when ‘dressed down.’ "
Clothes you need to help you pull off "Business casual" include khaki pants, slacks, and skirts, as well as short-sleeved polo shirts and long-sleeved shirts, but excludes jeans, tight or short skirts, T-shirts, and sweatshirts.
Your wardrobe should consist of neutral colors more towards the dark shades of black, gray, navy, but can include white and off white, and reminds that the clothing should be pressed and have clean, crisp seams.
