OPENED MY EYES: I NEED YOU

Image
I Need You Heyy folks! It's been ages hasn't it?. I hope you missed me and longed to hear from me again. I'm struggling. I've been struggling for some time now. We feel bad when we admit this and people often pity others when they hear those words "I'm struggling". Honestly struggle is a good thing. It means we want more! We are tired of the status quo. I'm tired! So very tired! It's been a long week, I've barely prayed, I feel like my fasts were hunger strikes and nothing more because I feel my week was devoid of God's presence. I've fallen. Some old battles against the flesh, battles I thought I had long won have resurfaced and I was not as strong as I thought, not as strong as I hoped. I have fallen BUT I CHOOSE to get right back up again. As we go through life, it's more than likely that we are in all of these situations at one time or the other and that's if you're "lucky". More often than not, It...

STYLE ZONE WITH ISTYLE

DRESS WELL! Good day lovely people, you're welcome to another session of style zone. The issue of dressing well cannot be overemphasized and i won't stop preaching against bad dressing....... So sit back and enjoy this post that i found! 1. The way you are dressed is the way you’ll be addressed. Come to think of it, you respect someone who is dressed well say a nice shirt or blouse and trousers and you are more likely to despise someone who is shabbily dressed, right? QED! 2. Dressing boosts your confidence. If you have ever dressed better than you used to do once or twice, you’ll agree with me that your confidence level was at its peak at that moment. Sources of this confidence ranges from the look full of admiration on the faces of people to the compliments you receive from them. Seeing reasons to start dresssing well yet 3. It helps improve your lifestyle… A better lifestyle results into a better you. 4. It attracts the opposite sex Guys, you might have pr...

LETTER TO ME

LETTER TO ME Dear Me, How have you been? It's been a long time since I wrote you a letter and you must have checked your nail box all of last week looking for a fresh one. I apologize brother. It was a hectic week and an even more hectic weekend, hence my failure to write you a later. You know, I still wasn't sure up until this morning if I wanted writing you a letter or just saying a few words. But I told myself there's no reason I can't say a few words in a letter. I must tell you the words are flowing as I write, so bear with me if the thoughts seem a little incoherent, but you know I always have a point in the end. Can I preach a little? Starts with a little story. Many years ago, well sometime B.C, a warrior was instructed by God - actually his whole nation was instructed - to take over a certain land. See, it wasn't this warrior's first rodeo. He knew what war was like. One time, he had fought so hard, he prayed his God to keep time on pause so he...

SELF ESTEEM

Image
Good morning people, hope you all had a lovely night "self esteem”, a little something we work with everyday. We wake up every morning and there we are feeling one emotion or another. Finding one place in the society can be quite difficult at times. First of all you, you’re born into a family, you are someone sister or brother. If are only child, it might be easy. But a large family requires you to take a position. You may be crazy one, the dependable or the quiet one.  All these positions requires you to act a certain way.You hear a parent say “Not you too Bob!, I expected such a behavior from Sarah, not you" then you begin to wonder how it came to that point. When you enter in the society, you try to carry that position you had earned in your family into it. Sometimes the group you find yourself may need that dependable or crazy one which you are and sometimes the crazy one may already be there before your entry. Then you begin to find yourself again. And som...

Chi chuckles, "Well you asked for it, don't blame me if we end up in the sack, although I have been curious about what happens in the sack." She winks at Maria who groans. Chi looks at the Visier approaching them, "Sir, I can help you with that, we were just wondering about how many months pregnant one has to be to match the size of your stomach, Maria here had the opinion it would take about 7 months, but I think and this is just a thought, 10 months, I mean you can carry twins in the..." The visier slaps Chi and Maria sighs, she is already in trouble, what's the point of being tight lipped? "Sir,  you asked and she answered and quite honestly we were talking about your great taste in fashion, no one can quite pull of cruel as you do" she takes a pause before adding "sir", t...

STYLE ZONE WITH ISTYLE

WHY CAN'T A SMART WOMAN LOVE FASHION? Good day lovely ones, a lot of people have the misconception that as a geek, you shouldn't be fashion savvy, sadly this is not true; enjoy the beautiful story from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. After years of dressing down to make the right impression, novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie wises up to a truth that her Nigerian mother has known all along As a child, I loved watching my mother get dressed for Mass. She folded and twisted and pinned her ichafu until it sat on her head like a large flower. She wrapped her george—heavy beaded cloth, alive with embroidery, always in bright shades of red or purple or pink—around her waist in two layers. The first, the longer piece, hit her ankles, and the second formed an elegant tier just below her knees. Her sequined blouse caught the light and glittered. Her shoes and handbag always matched. Her lips shone with gloss. As she moved, so did the heady scent of Dior Poison. I loved, too, the way she dr...

Made In Africa Afcon Qualifiers Standing After Match Day 4 Madagascar have qualified for the African Cup of Nations finals for the first time by beating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in Vontovorona. Thailand-based midfielder Njiva Rakotoharimalala, 26, scored the only goal. They became the first team to qualify for a place in the finals that have now been expanded from 16 teams to 24. They were later joined by Egypt, Senegal and Tunisia in qualifying for the finals in Cameroon next June/July. Madagascar's win moved them to 10 points in Group A with two matches left to play. The games was played in Vontovorona after Madagascar were banned from using the Mahamasina Stadium in Antananarivo for "three matches or three months". GOLIATH IS NOT DEAD

Image
GOLIATH IS NOT DEAD!!!!      It couldn't had been an illusion of what I saw that the head of this giant was actually chopped off his body. Maybe it was all a dream, maybe Goliath didn't ever exist or this is all fiction. Actually, David Jesse did a perfect job and though Goliath is dead but his deadly threats are very much alive in our minds. His threats that broke our self esteem, enslaved us and made us incapacitated to unleash the God nature in us. Not until we conquer the Goliath inside even the remains of Goliath would still oppress us. David Jesse inspires me a lot, he already saw Goliath as a dead man ever before he confronted him. Let's get rid of his words from our minds, get refreshed and energized from the inside cos the battle inside is twice as hot as the battle outside!!!! Aboje King Kenneth fb Abojekenneth IG

ARTEFACTS

Image
Artefacts: Poem of the week MY FIRST GRAFFITI Once I wrote a graffiti For a girl in my vicinity Beside a small stream that flowed Along the western midland coast. I visited it everyday I lived To ensure it grew and breathed So one day I'd show it to my girl To create awareness before I confessed. The graffiti was a design of words Exquisitely done, I so much adored It's beauty, comeliness and class I waited as nights came, days passed. Then on a very cool day I saw her again in her usual majesty The trees bent under the influence of the breeze, she sashayed. Until finally, I took her to where I'd done the graffiti. The ambience of the stream gave good vibes I discovered instantly a flash in her eyes As she saw the design on the ground Her mouths searched for words and fortunately found. The words made echoes as she read "To you with love from me, I seek not just time and care. But, together, forever, achieve our dreams. And live peac...

FUNTECH MOBILE REVIEWS (ELEPHONE S8)

Image
FUNTECH MOBILE REVIEWS (ELEPHONE S8) Good day my wonderful people, today, I'll be taking a bit of time your time. I want you all to welcome the ELEPHONE S8 MOBILE. This mobile device is surprisingly stunning and has specifications to get you wowed. Seat back relax and enjoy your review. I promise, you would love it. The Elephone S8 has a lot to offer under £200, including a large, very decent 16:9 Quad-HD screen, but it's not the upgrade to the Elephone S7 we were hoping for. Its design is a real departure, more Mi Mix Mk II than Elephone S7 Mk II, and it loses nice touches such as the microSD slot and headphone, while upgrading the battery, charging port and cameras. ELEPHONE S8 FULL REVIEW As fans of the Elephone S7 we were excited to see how the S8 shapes up - and then disappointed when we realised how much of a departure it is from its predecessor. But our disappointment didn't last long, because the Elephone S8 offers some decent hardware at a mid-range pric...

HAMZ MUSINGS: ON INTERNATIONAL GIRLS DAY

Image
ON INTERNATIONAL GIRLS  DAY 2018 A very good day to you thoughtful leaders and welcome on board to Hamz's Musings this bright Thursday morning. Today is World International Girls Day. What does that signify to you? That's why today, I  decided to write this very short letter below to fellow men out there. So, grab yourself a sit and have a read. "Dear Fellow Men, Let us be a little more blunt today, shall we? What do you see females as? Walking sex tools existing for the sole reason of satiating your sexual perversions? When you see a lady, what are the very first things that occur to you? That she is okay or not, depending on the size of her breasts or the sheer volume of her butts? Do you reduce her to her sexual organs? Do you plot the shortest way between her and your bed? Mr Man, is this all you see? Then you are blind. Is this what you do? Then you are despicable. Shame on you! You should have a brain and it should be in your head, not down there. ...

MENTAL HEALTH WITH TIANA

Image
Welcome to " Mental health" talk with Tiana Hope you had a great day Today, we will be talking about "Direction" One of humans biggest and longest standing fear is being stagnant but direction is so much important than speed, Many are going nowhere fast. Do not be afraid of what looks like a total destruction, nothing is meant to last. You are allowed to leave anything or anyone that dims your light instead of making you shine better. Leaving opens a new door for change, growth, opportunities and redemption for you. You are even allowed to leave the old you behind and reinvent yourself. Know that you can start late, look different, be uncertain, start over and still succeed. You are just one decision away from a new beginning. Maria looks at her write up and groans, "it's so bad!!!" then the sound of the morning horn wakes every one telling them it's time for labor. "When will this stop? I don't understand why people take it, I mean it's obvious the minister and his cohorts use us to enrich their bellies sucking on the dreams of the poor," she stands to dress up for another morning ritual and murmurs, "They expect us to thank them, for what? SOPHIE SPEAKS!!

Image
What's up October!!!! We're 84days away from 2019! Wow! I just did a victory dance. It feels amazing waking up each day to friends and family we began this year with. I'm certain that this last quarter is going to be a major hit for everyone who hasn't experienced a smooth sailing ride. Keep your fingers crossed. Across the globe, humans has succeeded in concealing pain and worry by putting up a superficial glow in a bid to distract and avoid letting in on their problems. As logical as this approach is, it's all the way destructive. Faking a smile to get through each day isn't the best resort. As much as we all go through tough times, it doesn't erase our emphatic nature to share our fellows burden. Some persons find it difficult to keep up and resort to a recluse because sharing information is a big deal for a lot of folks. Having done a dual series on growth, i presume I'm communicating to the right minds on this one. Our initial inclination mos...
