 HOW TO TAKE ACCURATE BASIC MEASUREMENTS  So last week when talking on how to get the perfect fit, the first thing on our list was "taking accurate measurements". Being the nice and helpful person I am, I've taken the time out to list the basic measurements we need for a simple dress and how to take these measurements accurately. Ideally, you should be measured wearing only your undergarments.  However, a close-fitting clothing will be fine.  Do NOT measure yourself or a client that's wearing jeans, sweats, or other bulky clothing.  It DOES make a difference fam. The body is made of soft tissue, so it can be a bit difficult to know exactly how tight to pull the tape around the body. The tape should be a bit snug, but not tight - it should not "dig in" or make an indentation in the body.  It should not be loose, either!  Just wrap the tape around the area of the body being measured and hold it in place.  You should be able to put a finger behind th...

  A lot of times when we hear the word blessing we think of ourselves or a friend whose name is blessing (I have quite a few😂),  but today i will like to encourage us to look at the word from another angle which is “being a blessing to others”. As much as receiving is great, its also nice when we give and when we are the reason for the smile on someone’s face❤️ So as you expect blessings today i hope you are a blessing too.

 2020 SURVIVAL KIT LOVE: This love thingy can be difficult at times. I did have this idea that you gotta be loved by people. I didn't know how that came to be, but years ago I did realized how much pressure I put on myself for others to like me. That was tricky.  GARMENT FITTING Fit is the relation between body dimensions and clothing dimensions. A good fit is achieved when the client feels comfortable and tasks can be performed well in the clothing. Garment fitting refers to how well a garment (which is two dimensional) conforms to the three dimensional human body figure. Fitting begins before the first pattern piece is cut and continues throughout the entire construction process of the garment. How to Achieve A Perfect Fit 1. Ensure you take accurate measurements.  2. Study and understand the design thoroughly.  3. Draw out your patterns and be sure before cutting the fabric.  4. If the fabric is rumpled, straighten it out with a pressing iron before cutting. 5. Ensure you sew on the right points, leave sewing allowance and crosscheck your measurements while sewing.  6. Iron out/Press each seam while sewing.  7. Try the finished work out on a mannequin and make corrections before the client comes for fittings....

Its our Monday series and today and we are talking in possibilities, so many things where considered impossible until someone did them. I personally believe that everyone should develop a mindset where nothing seems impossible to them, because most limitations we have are the ones we develop in our minds due to fear, past experiences and more.  Sojourner's Diary: EVERYWHERE GOOOOOOOD! Hi there. How's it been? Been a minute, yeah? I have had so much to write about but for some reason I've been unable to string the sentences. A little over two weeks ago, a terrible incident occurred just as we were hoping that our country was gonna experience the change we had all been praying for. A lot has occurred over the spanning two weeks since the lekki massacre, both to me and to everyone in our nation. If there's anything 2020 has shown me, it's that; things could always get worse. But pessimism isn't all that has governed my year.  NEW is a word that usually brings hope and excitement! When something is new it is most likely going to bring a different experience, another chance, fresh look and introduce possibilities. Once again we are in a New Month, and though this year might have not been the smoothest, i would like you to have HOPE again, don’t think what can change in just 2 months, think possibilities and focus on making those possibilities your reality.   THE REVOLUTION Going through my social media accounts these past few days and never have I ever been so proud to be a Nigerian youth than now. I was in traffice caused by the protest and I was smiling all through, in my mind I was like "na my people be that". The revolution is on either will accept it or not and by God's grace we are achieving the country of our dreams. Meanwhile here is a few nuggets to get us through these revolutionary period: 1. If you are brave enough to join the protests physically please do (you might get your spouse there😉😉). Ensure it's peaceful though. However if you know you can't, join the online protests going on social media platforms. 2.
