INSIDE LIFE WITH GBEMI: GO TO THE ANTS
GO TO THE ANTS
One ot my many fascinations as a kid was watching ants move. It's a wonder how this tiny insects could arrange themselves in a orderly manner and move without anyone disrupting the line, how they could move tirelessly with crumbs of meals and move it into their tiny holes. I remember using a stick to scatter the unique line but at the end I discovered something; they rearranged themselves and continued their journey of survival, nothing was stopping them from their tasks.
In my final year in secondary school, Proverbs 6:6 was the slogan given by our Principal to us. He always ended his speech with "Go to the ants thou sluggard...'' As students, we were so conversant with this statement that we found ourselves completing the it with the rest of the verse " consider her ways and be wise". The statement then was for us to buckle up and prepare for our forth coming exams.
King Solomon gave us this advice inorder for us to prepare ourselves in all aspects. "Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man."; Prov 6:7-10.
Just as these tiny insects prepare themselves for the rainy days ahead, so we have to also prepare ourselves. You never know what's coming ahead but it's best you are prepared. Winter is surely coming and yours might not be the ones the Starks were expecting.
