IN HONOUR OF CHADWICK BOSEMAN

We woke up to the disarming news of the demise of an amiable character in the person of Chadwick Boseman, popularly known to us the man who started in the movie 'Black Panther'.

I have followed Boseman since I saw the movie 'Marshall' and I must say he left an impression whenever he featured on screen. Not to say the less, his own life was an inspiration in itself and a path beautifully carved. I write in tribute to him right now with the hope that his family will be able to bear this heavy loss.

I leave you with a short bio:

Chadwick Aaron Boseman (November 29, 1976 – August 28, 2020) was an American actor and producer. He played several historical figures, such as Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013), James Brown in Get on Up (2014), and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall (2017). His role as the superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including Black Panther (2018), made him an international star, winning him an NAACP Image Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Boseman's other film roles included 21 Bridges (2019), which he also co-produced, and Da 5 Bloods (2020). His final film, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, will be released posthumously on Netflix. He died on August 28, 2020, after privately dealing with colon cancer for four years.

May he Rest in Peace.

LIFE AS IT IS- VOWS

Vow's When he approached home, he was full of remorse. All he felt within him was sadness. And apologies, all he had constructed on his way back home. He was going to start with the gift he had bought and then go down on his knees. He would plead until she forgave him and this time he promised himself, this time things would be alright. He opened the door with care. Moving quietly, not doing anything that would disturb her. When he entered, it was silent. Their house had never been silent. It was either she was cooking while humming to herself or listening to her favorite artists. Songs of Lana Del Rey and Halsey. Most times she would sing along and one couldn't help but feel the longing in her voice. Those times, he had felt sobered. Not knowing how to help, not matter how much he had tried. This time it was not what he expected, and even though he didn't want to admit it to himself, it felt peaceful. Once upon a time, their life had been like a fairy tale. N...

The Sojourner's Diary: ALMA GEMELA(SOUL MATE)

The Sojourner's Diary: ALMA GEMELA The Spanish word for soul mate stands for "alma gemela". You know, I've always wondered. It has always had me bothered. That question. Simple as it may sound, it is a question that has troubled my mind relentlessly. How many soul mates do we get in a lifetime?  Have you ever met someone and out of the blue, y'all connect and a bond is forged? You spend moments together and moments turn into hours, hours into days, days into weeks and weeks into months and months into years, years into more years, you get the picture. Everything is fine is the beginning and then the misunderstandings begin and then you start to see how different y'all really are and then your three hours of calls become three minutes of awkwardness with so many words in your minds but none of them said. You then start to wonder, "was this really my soulmate or did I get it all wrong?" Are we even meant to be together? Eventually, you start to let eac...
