INSIDE LIFE WITH GBEMI: EMPTY LOSS PART ONE!

EMPTY LOSS (PART 1)
Dozis returned back from work and found his 2 months old daughter wailing loudly in the hands of the house help who looked distraught and helpless. "Take her to her mother', he ordered. "Madam has refused to tend to her, she didn't even answer me when I left the baby with her earlier", the maid replied. Dozie stormed angrily into the bedroom and found his wife, Lola on the bed in the same position he saw her when he left for the office in the morning. "Can't you hear the baby crying? what is wrong with you? Why are you behaving like this? " Lola didn't even seem to hear him. It was like she was lost in her own world. Something snapped in Dozie which made him to shake her violently. "I am talking to you woman", he said. Lola turned to look at him as if he just suddenly appeared. "I am sorry, what did you say? " she asked. "Go and attend to your baby", he said. "Oh, okay", but she made no move to stand up from the bed. Dozie angrily left the room.
He met the maid still trying to appease the wailing child. "Have you fed her? ". Yes, I have but it seems she needs her mother", the maid replied. Dozie then stormed out of the house in anger. He entered his car and drove off. He needed to cool off before he does something bad like wring his wife's pretty neck. He never understood what was wrong with her. She had been happy while pregnant and expecting the birth of their daughter. She had even outdone herself in preparing the nursery to hert taste. Even after the birth of the baby she still seemed okay. Whatever happened to make her detest her baby all of a sudden.
He remembered calling his mum to tell her about Lola's behaviour. Mama was not even helpful. She went on and on about how she saw this coming and had warned him not to marry her since she was a witch who never wanted to have any child. "I told you that they eat their children in the kingdom she belongs to but you refused to heed to my warnings, you we're saying you love each other. If she loves her child the way she loves you why can't she even look at her now?" Mama had said. Dozie knew Lola loved him so much at the beginning of their marriage but he can't fathom what went wrong.
