LIFE AS IT IS: AN EYE 2

AN EYE
Chapter Two.

June 2014

Sarah had often wondered how it would feel like to have a man of her own. And for those periods while Jeremy had visited her shop, she had wondered how it would felt like to be dotted upon by that particular man.

She wasn't a fool, and so knew that having a man wasn't the main course. Having a man who loved you was it. There weren't too many men like Jeremy in town and of course most men like Jeremy were married. The singles were living their youth, not ready to be tied down.

And that's what she wanted, to tie one down. To come home knowing you were not going to be alone. To know that someone was going to be there or come for you.

Working at the confectionery shop, she had made friends with a woman named Liv. Liv was much older and more experienced about life. Not in real sense anyways. More about men and how you could bend them to your will. Her words not Sarah's.
The irony was lost on her though as Liv had two kids from two different men and none of the men were married to her.

Sarah liked Liv. In a way she had found someone, someone who she could share other parts of her life with. And of course Liv was ready to offer multiple advices. Most of the advices she had laughed at and some she took to the heart. Liv may have been unable to keep down a man but still they still swarmed around her like bees.

When she had told Liv about her Crush on Jeremy. Liv had laughed out loud. Liv had told her how she (Liv) had tried to get his attention and she hadn't succeeded after several attempts. Liv had told Sarah “It hadn't worked out for me, but I would make sure it does for you”

Liv wasn't greedy. There were many men or "fish" as men would say and she still had a lot to choose from.

So she taught Sarah on ways to catch his attention. How to smile and what to say? And on that particular Saturday night, she got her chance.
