THE BEAUTIFUL GAME⚽: NO CALCULATIONS AND PERMUTATION NEEDED

Image
NO CALCULATIONS AND PERMUTATION NEEDED   After missing the previous two Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria have announced their tournament return in 2019 with two wins from two. Their latest, against Guinea, was more about being efficient than spectacular. With two wins, they become the first team to reach the knockout stage of the expanded 24 team Africa Cup of Nations. Once again, they left it late, Kenneth Omeruo sneaking in at the near post in the 73rd minute to glance a header beyond Guinea goalkeeper Ibrahima Kone's despairing flap about. It was no less than the Super Eagles deserved for a controlled performance in which they pressured the Syli Nationale high and kept them from establishing any sort of foothold in the game, despite an edge in possession. What Nigeria Did Right Eagles Show Squad Depth And Quality At some point this might end up sounding like a broken record, but Gernot Rohr showed how deep his squad is by making five changes to the side which started agai...

HAMZ MUSINGS: Procrastination the obstacle of growth

Image
PROCRASTINATION; THE OBSTACLE OF GROWTH By Hamz There was a link on the site. It said ‘the dumbest procrastination joke’; I checked it and couldn’t believe my eyes. Two words- only two words- stared back at me.  "COMING SOON" It took me some seconds to fully appreciate this joke but when I did. I laughed out really loud. It summarizes, succinctly, the state in which many live their lives. Doubtless, every one of us, at one point or the other, have suffered the effects of procrastination. However, only those strong enough to conquer it have a great story to tell in the end. Procrastinators have one of the worst diseases in the world and many of them don’t know it. For the few that know it, their response to it is similar to what one sufferer said. ‘Procrastination is my weakest link. It has brought me so much sorrow. I think I’ll have to change my ways. I’m going to start  "TOMORROW" Procrastination is probably the worst of the habits because die-hard procra...

MEMOIRS 3 : ALKALI AMANA'S BOARD

Image
MEMOIRS 3 Sharing experiences are beautiful, and these days the dread of being robbed is an active part of life on campus for most students. A robbery experience can cause a split in a relationship. Here is my story. A guy and his girlfriend visited a female friend and after some time together, bandits came knocking trying to force down the door to come in. Consider  this: What would an average person do? Well, the guy ran into the toilet and locked it up leaving the two ladies outside and to their fate whatsoever when the robbers come in. The robbers came in, harassed the ladies and took their gadgets including phones and other devices. After the incident, the guy remained locked up and refused coming out to the cries of the ladies for fear of being robbed. The dilemma: Was it sufficient that the girl broke up with the guy on such grounds? Run your comments and thoughts Tellrheaders. THE BEAUTIFUL GAME⚽: Its Time For Africa

Image
ITS TIME FOR AFRICA The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off this Friday June 21st in Egypt. Last time Egypt were the hosts, back in 2006, they won the tournament. It was their first of three back-to-back AFCON titles, but the four African Cup of Nations tournaments since then have seen four different winners, including 2012’s surprise winners Zambia, who didn’t even qualify for the expanded 2019 tournament. There could be another surprise winner this year, but here’s a preview of what to expect from the frontrunners at AFCON 2019. EGYPT As many as 90,000 fans in the Borg el Arab Stadium erupted in November 2017 when Mohamed Salah’s last minute penalty against Congo sent Egypt to the World Cup. But following a disappointing performance at Russia 2018, Egypt changed their manager, bringing in former Mexico and Atletico Madrid head coach Javier Aguirre. He has got the team scoring lots of goals and playing entertaining soccer. Egypt have scored 20 goals in their last eight matches...

ALKALI AMANA'S BOARD: My Memoirs 2

Image
MY MEMOIRS 2 I gained obsession with one my wristwatches - vintage black and white surface - and no thought to part ways with it has conquered my belief yet. I learned something - the essence of time. With each tick and tock, life stares deep to remind me of tasks ahead. I wonder what time means to every individual, but it makes the difference, everyone knows. Moments make men and men make moments. Defining or not, seconds cause a reaction beyond the present. We live on the predication of now. There were times. There was a time I crawled. There was a time I toddled. There was a time I began running. And, there was a time I began jumping. When we grew up, the Sahara and sun of the North call our attention to the long days we lived. Now, the weather and the Savannah call us to the shortness of time. I preach not, I tell. I know of no better tomorrow without a beautiful foundation today. What's your 'Story'? Run your comments and thoughts Tellrheaders. Happy Satu...

To check the oil , first take your car for a short drive, then wait about five minutes so it can cool down. Under the hood, the dipstick in the oil tank should be close to the front of the engine, near you. It’s usually pretty easy to find. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it with a cloth or towel, and then dip it all the way back into the oil tank. Pull it back out and see where the oil line is. There should be a notch in the dipstick to show you where a safe oil level should be. AUTOCARE WITH DAMILARE: REASONS YOUR CAR WON'T START

Image
Reasons your car won't start Hi TTB followers, welcome to Autocare 1. Dead battery: one of the.cause of a car not starting is a dead battery, If the battery is weak, but not totally dead, the starter may turn slowly.. When the battery voltage drops even further, there will be no sound. Reasons battery could die: • You left the dome light on overnight, • A wire is loose • Water inside the component evaporated leading to poor conductivity • or it’s simply a really old battery. You can test to see if the battery is the problem by jump-starting your car. If the jump-start works, you’re most likely dealing with a dying battery. Consider replacing the battery, or cleaning the connections 2. Alternator: If the alternator is not up to par, your battery may not get charged. If the alternator seems to be the culprit you can first check for a worn or slipping accessory drive belt first. If the alternator fails or the belt breaks, you will more than likely get a warning light. If...

TUESDAY TALK WITH GBEMI: LOST (A tale of societal pressure, domestic abuse)

Image
LOST She was frustrated, she was exhausted. She was tired of waiting for the “right” man. She was in her mid-thirties. Her time was running out. All her friends are married with at least two kids. There was pressure from her parents, friends and relatives to get married. She was a successful lady and a devout christian, money was not a problem, getting married was. God’s delay is never His denial, people say. This morning, she woke up feeling hopeful. She had a dream last night were she was dressed in a white wedding gown, getting ready to walk down the aisle. She knelt and prayed, “Lord let this dream of mine become a reality”. With that, she went about her daily routine to get ready for work. On her way back home from work, she had a flat tire. She tried reaching her mechanic but he was unavailable. She also tried to flag down other vehicles, none stopped. Suddenly, the clouds opened and it began to rain with a vengeance. She sat in her car and prayed for a miracle to happen. She...

Image
Stay Bright! Each year we welcome the month of June with open arms and open umbrellas. Rainy days are here! Though dressing for the rains seems gloomy, it really doesn’t have to be! This season, don't restrain yourself from looking ravishing. You might want to avoid colors such as white cus that will be everyone's go-to color, Instead, flaunt bright colours like red, green, blue, indigo, yellow and stand out of the crowd. Many people think black isn’t the best color for this season. But with the sunny days gone, we don’t have to worry about wearing black as it is a weather friendly color for the season, wearing a dark color is always a good option in rainy season. If you get stuck in the rain without a coat for some reason, your light clothes might become see through. Dark clothes save your day. Wear a pair ripped jeans with any dark shade of top, add style to it with a scarf in bright color. Even though it rains all month, stay Bright cus that's how we should be! @...

ALKALI AMANA'S BOARD: MY MEMOIRS 1

Image
MY MEMOIRS 1: We are building stories... Who we are. What we are.  Where we are. How we are. We are building now to answer the eternal question of posterity and its representations. For each letter we use, each word we say, each sentence we think of and even the plans we design. It is the little things we do that matter. In their entirety, where neglected, can cause a catastrophe. I had a trip and I drew inspiration from its transpiration. From one end to the other, we are born to fulfill a destination, reach its end successfully and well. But, not always are we successful drivers as humans. We are building our stories. Men have built. Some crashed, others relented, some others revelled, all in their distinct but elaborate world. Paths have been carved, stories told and retold, but not ours, not yet, because we are building, probably just begun. I heard a leader once. She said "I am here because 27 years from now I will not want to see another lady like me suffer becaus...

REAL MADRID SIGN EDEN HAZARD FROM CHELSEA Real Madrid have announced the signing of Eden Hazard from Chelsea in a deal understood to be worth up to £130 million. Hey! Hey!! Hey!!! TTB followers, how are you all doing? Welcome to Wallflower and as we continue with our series I hope you find it interesting.            BROKEN            Episode 9            (Recap) When I opened the door, I got the shock of my life! My husband, Dennis was kissing James! (his bestfriend and bestman). Yes! You read that right. He was kissing His best friend. I couldn't suppress the gasp that left my lips and I couldn't hold back the tears when he just stared at me for a few seconds and went back to kissing James. This time he even started unbuttoning his shirt. I ran back to my car and while seated, it dawned on me that I had seen the signs but I ignored them. How he would gaze longingly (like a dog deprived of a chew toy) at James whenever he thought I was looking. How he would always spend hours with James instead of me. How he would always call his name even in h...

HAMZ MUSINGS: FAMILY; THE TIE THAT BINDS.

Image
FAMILY;  THE TIE THAT BINDS. By Hamz I grew up in one of the rural parts of Nigeria. Where most of the houses were built with mud and the roofs were thatched; where malnourished children ran around the streets naked. We walked distances to fetch water from the stream and the roads were not tarred. And, when it rained, the roofs to our house leaked and destroyed some of our belongings. And when it shined, the giant trees that surrounded us did little to shade us from the scorching African Sun that was a perpetual angry, giant ball in the Sky. I lived with my elder brother, younger sister and parents. I was the dutiful son: when it rained and the roofs leaked, I placed buckets in all the positions where it did; I focused hard in school and studied as much as I could. Mother and father had big dreams and expectations of me. I would go to the big city one day, and I would study to become a doctor. I would get rich and emancipate the family from the state of impoverishment. Th...
