           BROKEN
       (Episode 5)

(Recap)

I vividly remember that day like yesterday.

It was a very gloomy day.
You see, it was the rainy seasons and so everywhere was quite dull and gloomy but something set that particular day apart. Maybe it was because I woke having the feeling that something bad was going to happen that day but I shrugged it off as one of my crazy moments (we all have them).
Now, back to that day.
One thing I noticed when I woke up was that everyone was wearing a long face and trying to cover it up with a fake smile. (NOTE: it was a holiday season and I was at my grandpa's house since my dad was equally ill)
Nobody was bothered with breakfast and my uncles were just coming into the house and leaving abruptly, not to talk about the whispers and side looks that were being passed to me when I they thought I was looking.

I still thought nothing of it until my grandparents' nosy neighbour came to talk to grandma. I felt she'd come to talk about an issue she had with another neighbour, colleague or friend (as usual) until I started hearing things like "coma, his daughter, she doesn't know".
That's when it dawned on me that everyone was having a tea party and I wasn't invited.
So, I decided to do what a typical 13 year old would do. I waves dropped (till this day, I never eavesdrop).
That's when I discovered that my grandma was actually talking about my dad being in a coma.
" Ahhh"!! I exclaimed  out of shock and I quickly scurried away so nobody would see me.
I went into my room and kept wondering because I'd heard cases of Coma patients passing on to the great beyond.
I prayed to God not to let it be my dad's case.
It didn't take long my when my grandma walked into my room and started scolding me that (again as usual) that I was being too lazy (I had no chores to do anyway) and didn't I know I wasn't a kid anymore?
I ignored her cos I was so far away in my thoughts.
She got mad and blurted out "You stupid girl! Do you know what's going on?" I replied with "my dad is in a coma, I know".
Then she said..
" Not just that, your dad is dead"!
At first all I could hear was "Mummy! Mummy!! Johnny!!! Reuben!!!! (My uncles) Help! Help!!
That's when I blacked out.

What lessons have you learnt so far?
Best answer gets a peek at the next series.
Have any questions??
Hit me up with them.
Have a great week.
