GLIMPSE OF HOPE WITH KENNETH ABOJE : OVERCOMING LOW SELF ESTEEM

OVERCOMING LOW SELF ESTEEM

It's a beautiful Saturday and I hope you're having a great time but most especially you are highly welcome to Tellrhodes blog hope June is treating you well, I hope so. Most specifically welcome to a glimpse of hope where we give you exclusive amazing vibes for your delight and you can't but keep coming back for more.

Today, I want to talk about something very sensitive to everyone including me. The topic before us is; "Overcoming low self esteem" but before we go deep into it let's break it down.
 ESTEEM is simply to regard with respect then self esteem would mean to regard oneself with respect. The mental image which you have about yourself, the picture you have in your mind, the opinion you have about yourself either positively or negatively constitute your self esteem and it goes a long way to determine your character, efficiency, productivity in life and it affects every as aspect of your life.

  Esteem could be viewed in two(2) ways;
1. High (healthy) self esteem
2. Low self esteem

While it's good to have a high esteem for yourself be careful that it doesn't result into over confidence and pride, just keep it healthy not toxic. On the other hand, those who think they worth nothing assuming it to be modesty are hurting themselves.

Low self esteem is something we all have fought, some are fighting and those coming would still have to fight. I had to fight to overcome low self esteem while growing up as a teenager. Having a poor mental picture of yourself is the worst thing you could ever do to yourself, it reduces you, renders you powerless and you are not able to live a life of your own, you are caged in a prison in your mind. Your emancipation from low self-esteem begins from your mind, it begins from your understanding that God created you unique with an awesome personality He created you to stand out and be the best. So believe in God and also have confidence in the fact that God is with you. You are a unique person.

There are diverse reasons why people suffer from low self esteem which major effect is lack of confidence in one's own abilities;

1. Lack of self discovery
2. Awful past mistakes
3.Lack of parental love and care
4.Negative peer group
5. Addiction; to mention but a few.

Now low self esteem is more common among teenagers but it's quite interesting that there are adults who are still in the struggle, of which I've been privileged to meet some of them. You can't continue like that, you must rise and take your life in your hands, take charge and change your world. When you try to be like someone else the best you can ever be is second best but that's not what God wants for you. He created you an original not a photocopy.

OVERCOMING LOW SELF ESTEEM

1. Stop comparing yourself with others.

In other words, be yourself. Instead of trying to be like someone else work on improving yourself. Quit the competition, who's this or that focus on yourself and don't do things to impress anyone.

2. Rebuke that voice in your head.
That voice that keeps telling you negative stuffs speak back to it, speak back positive vibes, reject every negativity.

3. Do some mirror talking

Talk to the image you see when you stand at the front of the mirror. Inspire yourself because nobody would do it for you. Shape your world with your mouth.

4. Dare to do the impossible
Dare something seemingly impossible, something outside the usual you. Address a crowd, learn a skill, learn new vocabulary just make sure it's something unusual. Be focused on building yourself.

  Please, do drop your comments let's know how this post has helped you. Don't kill your vibe, you be your number one person. If I say I love you no think say na just official talk I really mean am.  Take high five.
